I love Trupanion. Great customer service. Whenever I need to put in a claim, I fax the claim form over and I have a check for 90% back in my hands in a week or less. I highly recommend them.
I used to have pet plan which I think changed to pet secure on my dogs…seemed every time I submitted a claim there was 100.00 deductible on things they did cover, but mostly I realized they hardly covered anything because I would submit and get declined..anyway we just purchased in July a little male american cocker spaniel (Tucker) to be a friend for our cavalier king charles spaniel (Lilly)…I immediately put trupanion on him on recommendation from our vet..I called Trupanion with my skeptism and questions …which were all handled in a very professional manner from the rep I spoke with…in August our dear little Tucker became very ill, very fast. He had a blockage in his colon..we had to call the vet in at 2am in the morning..he is fine now..and my vet submitted my vet bill for me and my forms and I was paid 90% within 5 days..I must say I couldn’t believe it…no hassles etc I had called trupanion to inquire on the coverage because I thought surely this won’t all be covered..I didn’t even know if I was thru the waiting period yet…but I was by 24 hours how lucky is that. Anyway Trupanion thank you very much…I recommend you to everyone I know who is a pet owner and I sign your praises constantly…keep up the good work..thank God we found your company…hugs and kisses from Tucker…in NB Canada
I have nothing but good things to say about Trupanion…It saved my life as well as my dog’s.
For years 14 in all with my last wonderful pet companion, but I had no insurance and if I had had it then our family wouldn’t have had to go without to save my girl…and may be just may be she would have had a better quality of life…So now with the smarts of having had to already use this insurance alot with our new pup…I would never change a thing…I watch other’s with no insurance and they struggle with the bills and/or decisions of whether to do the expensive treatments…where as I will never have to make that horrible decision again…If you love your pets give them the gift of your love carry pet insurance you won’t regret it ever…They’ll love you for it….
We’ve had Trupanion Pet Insurance for just over a year now and cannot recommend them highly enough!! They cover everything except pre-existing conditions, including breed specific and genetic conditions. They pay their claims promptly and everyone we’ve spoken to is very nice. They are the best pet insurance available!!
I filed my first claim 1 weeks ago and just received an email letting me know the claim has been completed and on reimbursement is on its way. I am very satisfied with how fast the claim was processed (especially since it was the first claim made for this pet) and the amount reimbursed!!
I had my dog insured with Trupanion since when he was
3 1/2 month old. I had 6 claims one was within the 30 days (I have not claim this one in Trupanion added it when I faxed them all the records for the dog) the claim where anywhere from $12, $15, $22, $30, $70 to $425 (this last one for X-Rays) and they spread over a period of 4 months from the initial insurance date. All of the claims where rejected Trupanion saying that all of the problems he had where pre-existing conditions therefore the is no payment for the claims. When I called to cancel the policy they did not wanted to cancel it and it took me 2 days of calling to finally have the policy cancelled. I have spent more time to cancel the policy than to sign up. This is a company you should steer clear from it. All the best and keep your pets safe.
terrible service after 1 year a 70% increase in cost and we filed no claims until after the increase. They do not cover any Vet visit charges even if your pet is sick it gets taken off the claim check Big disappointment
Be aware of “premium adjustments” I have had my premiums increased 150 percent over the past two years. No I haven’t made a claim, apparently everyone else with my breed has made a claim. Very frustrating to see thee increases.
Excellent company to work with. The plan is super simple. Reimbursement is really fast. You get confirmation by the next day. Approval within 3-4 days. Check in your hands within 2 weeks of the report… That includes time necessary for post office to deliver. They can also pay the vet directly! Customer service is excellent as well. I have both my dogs insured and any time I file an incident it’s covered no questions asked. Tick bites all the way to overnights with IV.
Don’t get sucked into this pet insurance. When you read the information on their web site don’t believe they will cover 90% of none existent health illness. I made the mistake to belief that they do I signed up with them and after few months I had submitted an claim for $900.00 dollars from my vet. After several phone calls and dealing with different reps (they seem so nice on the phone when you talk with them but they have no intentions of listening and understanding what your issues are) they only paid less than $190.00 dollars. When I challenged them regarding the claim I was told that after I signed up they did send me nine plus pages of attached PDF file that explains all the exclusions and restrictions that they have. They never mention that on their web site when you are researching the pros and cons and comparing other pet insurance providers they are very quick to do bate and switch after you sign up and start paying your premiums. I did cancel right of way and looking other pet insurance providers. Do your research before you commit to this dishonest company.
1 year anniversary, 1 claim filed in the year for about 100 bux and I get a 300% rate increase from 50ish to over 150 per month. They claim this is due to rising cost of vet care in my zip code. I looked around on line and see tons of complaints… just search Trupanion rate increase in google.
Not worth the money. My brand new Bully got Pnemuniua and because he had a slight runny nose prior to the policy starting it was considered pre-existing. Cancelled and looking for new insurance to take care of my babies.
