The Turkish Angora is probably related to the Turkish Van and both breeds have a long history. They may have been brought back to Europe during the time of the Crusades. These cats are intelligent and curious. They have semi-longhair and weigh 5 to 9 pounds. They are particularly fond of water and may hop in the shower with their owner.

The Turkish Angora is affected by Cardio Myopathy. They are also affected by Ataxia, which causes grossly uncoordinated movement.
