The Sphynx is considered a somewhat rare breed. These cats appear hairless but they actually have a fine, downy fur. The Sphynx may be the most intelligent breed of cat.

Because of careful breeding, the Sphynx is generally a healthy cat with few health issues. Spasticity and alopecia universalis, a skin problem, are found in the breed. Regular ear cleaning and bathing are necessary to prevent ear infections and skin problems.
