The Korat is an ancient blue-gray cat from Thailand where she is considered to be good luck. They are considered a medium-sized breed and semi-cobby in body type. This is considered a rare breed.

The Korat is subject to gangliosidosis GM1 and GM2, both of which can be fatal. However a genetic test has been developed to identify carriers of these genes so the disease can be eradicated from the breed, but without testing the disease can be passed on so it’s important for breeders to take advantage of the testing.
