The Devon Rex is another curly-coated Rex breed. They are not related to the Cornish Rex, or at least were not at the time the breed was first discovered. Different genes are responsible for the curl in the coat of these breeds. These are medium-sized, light cats.

The Devon Rex can suffer from hypotrichosis. Hip dysplasia, hypothyroidism, luxating patellas, spasticity, Flat Chest Kitten, abnormal blood clotting, muscle weakness and blood type dysfunctionality are also possible. Many of these problems can affect ALL purebred cats but other breeds are not as forthcoming.
