The Cornish Rex, like other Rex breeds, has a curly coat. The Cornish Rex is not considered a rare cat. This is a lighter weight cat. They are rangy and slender.

The breed originated from a genetic mutation found in a litter of kittens in 1950.

The Cornish Rex may have diet problems and be prone to vomiting. They may also have skin problems. They may also suffer from hypotrichosis.
